China: CIC Lixin Shipyard Receives Letter of Thanks from Pacific Basin Shipping

CIC Lixin Shipyard received a letter of thanks from Pacific Basin Shipping Company on 28th July. The content showed that the owner’s representatives highly appreciated the hard work of the work team of the shipyard for the m/b “Black Forest”. Meanwhile, the owner side was fully satisfied with the cooperation and kind understanding of the shipyard, wished to have the chance to cooperate in the near future.

The m/b “Black Forest” entered into the shipyard on July 18th and departed on July 27th, her main repair works included the regular docking, sand blasting/painting of the hull & all five cargo holds and windlass overhaul etc. Although the repair items were not many, Lixin Shipyard still put the high-level attention to ensure a smooth delivery.

The shipyard made the repair schedule beforehand according to the initial DD specification and arranged the manpower. Overcoming the difficulties such as the sultry weather, the shipyard accomplished each work items in accordance with the owner’s requirements. In particular, the radial jump of the windlass shaft was found to be 3mm, far over 0.2mm of the owner’s requirement. The shipyard immediately assigned one elite team, they successfully restored the data to owner’s satisfaction within merely one and a half day, which laid the foundation of the subject vessel’s one day earlier departure.

It’s known that being a regular customer, Pacific Basin Shipping Company has been quite satisfied with both the repair capabilities and service qualities of Lixin Shipyard for years.
