China: CNOOC Temporarily Repairs Subsea Pipeline Leak at Zhuhai Terminal

Business & Finance

CNOOC Limited announced on Thursday that it has resumed a limited production at its Zhuhai gas terminal after repairing a leak in subsea pipe.

According to Reuters CNOOC is delivering 2 million cubic meters per day of natural gas from the project, a bit less than 50 percent of its capability.

The company’s official said that they are working on long term restoration program.

CNOOC stopped the production at the Zhuhai terminal’s PY30-1 and HZ21-1 platforms on Dec 20, right after identifying a subsea pipeline leak.

Output deficits at the two fields totaled about 160 million cubic feet per day, or 26,700 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boepd), the company informed earlier.
