China: Container Ship Zapolyarny Arrives to Shanghai Port

 

OJSC MMC Norilsk Nickel informs that Zapolyarny enhanced ice class diesel-electric ship, owned by the Company, has arrived to its destination point – Shanghai port.

As reported earlier, on September 14 Zapolyarny container ship left Murmansk port for regular voyage along the Eastern part of Northern Sea Route (NSR) on route Murmansk-Dudinka-Shanghai and back. The Eastern part of Northern Sea Route is the shortest route for transportation of the Company products from the place of production to consumers in South East Asia.

The Company first used the above mentioned route for cargo transportation to South East Asia countries in 2010.

For the return voyage from Shanghai to Dudinka, it is planned to fully load the ship with material and technical supplies, equipment, and consumer goods for inhabitants of Norilsk Industrial Area.
