China: Sinopacific Holds Naming Ceremony for Global Lead Vessel PX105

Zhejiang Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. an affiliate to Sinopacific Shipbuilding Group, held the delivery and naming ceremony of global lead vessel PX105, a ship built for Bourbon Offshore Norway on the morning of August 9.

The company leaders and the ship owner’s representatives attended this grand ceremony, where PX105 was named as Bourbon Front.

As an offshore support vessel designed by ULSTEIN, PX105 features an overall length of 88.80M, breadth of 19.00M, depth of 8.00M, DWT of 4400T, and maximum speed of 15.5 knots. Since the ship’s shape integrates ULSTEIN’s latest design concept, namely X-BOW, the linear box is capable of conquering huge waves in the terrible marine environment. Besides, a set of retractable and all-direction propeller and super-silent shrouded propeller at the bow can increase the ship speed and enhance DP2 positioning functions considerably.

The successful fabrication of PX105 offshore support vessel is undoubtedly a sign that Sinopacific Shipbuilding Group has owned the world’s leading construction technology of offshore support vessels, and has developed into a shipbuilding base for offshore support vessels with high value added. Meanwhile, it’s a landmark for the future construction of PX105 offshore support vessel.
