China’s LNG imports rise

Imports of liquefied natural gas into China climbed 12 percent year on year in April reaching 1.5 million tonnes. 

The country’s LNG imports during the month of April rose 15 percent compared to March, according to data from China’s General Administration of Customs.

Together with LNG, imports of natural gas via pipeline climbed 18 percent as  compared to the previous year reaching 2.14 million tonnes.

Imports from Malaysia and Indonesia rose 200 percent and 100 percent, while deliveries from Qatar plunged 77 percent year on year to 92,000 mt, Platts reports.

China received single cargoes from Norway, Yemen and Papua New Guinea while several cargoes were shipped to the country from Australia.
