Chinese Ship Repair Enterprises Hold Top Three Positions in The Industry

Chinese ship repair enterprises held their thirty-ninth (39th) meeting of “SPCC” (Shiprepair Periodical Coordination Conference) on January 13, 2012 in Shanghai. During the meeting, the information as to the market situation and enterprise development was shared.

Ranking by the number of the vessels repaired in 2011, China Shipping Industry Co., Ltd., Cosco Shipyard Group Co., Ltd. and Guangzhou Dockyards Co., Ltd. took the top three positions in this industry.

As for the revenue of the past fiscal year, Cosco Shipyard Group Co., Ltd.; Yiu Lian Dockyards(Shekou) Limited and China Shipping Industry Co., Ltd. were the best three performers.

China Shipping Industry Co., Ltd. repaired totally 746 ships in 2011, a 12% year-on-year increase, and has maintained the first position of the industry in China. 15 members of “SPCC” have repaired 3420 ships in total last year, China Shipping Industry Co., Ltd. accounted for nearly 22% of the share.

According to the prediction by China Shipbuilding Industry Association late last year, up to November 2011, “Key enterprises in this industry repaired 3444 ships, a 6.9% decrease of year on year. In the aspect of the benefit, the prime operating revenue of other enterprises encountered a 5% to 20% sharp revenue decrease and their profits plunged 20% to 70% respectively, while China Shipping Industry Co., Ltd., delivered a positive result“.
