CIC Changxing Shipyard Carries Out MSC UGANDA Repairs, China

CIC Changxing Shipyard carried out the 3rd special inspection repair on MSC UGANDA, Laeisz Shipping Group’s container vessel. The repair was performed in a tight schedule. CIC-Changxing Shipyard smoothly arranged all jobs, overcame bad weather and much additional works to ensure her timely sailing.

The main job on this vessel included about 18,000m2 sand blasting and painting in 6 cargo holds and more than 150 tons scattered steel plate renewal. The owner requested the shipyard to ensure repair period because the vessel was still under lease. CIC-Changxing Shipyard put her in very important position, provided sufficient workers, facilities and other resources during the repair, increased more labor and worked overtime whenever any additional work came up. During the ten days of bad weather, the shipyard arranged in advance a dock slot for the vessel. The top management and other staff of the shipyard communicated with the owner smoothly, learnt the situation and improved the production in time. Many measures were adopted to ensure the repair period was under control.

This is the 6th vessel repaired at CIC-Changxing Shipyard from LAEISZ since 2012.
