Claxton Runner Up at World Oil Awards in Houston

Last week, Claxton were awarded the prize of runner up at the World Oil Awards in Houston. The World Oil Awards are in their 11th year and the theme for 2012 was “innovations from the future”.

Claxton were nominated in the Health, Safety, and Environment / Sustainable Development Offshore Award category for the pioneering subsea drilling and pinning machine. The awards were held at The Houstonian Hotel on 18th October, where a table was hosted by Rowan Patterson, Claxton’s Business Development Director, with handpicked clients in attendance.

The subsea drilling and pinning machine, designed to aid the recovery of conductors and casing strings without the need for diver intervention, was chosen as a finalist and then runner up it its category due to its numerous advantages over traditional methods. Not only does it save time and money, but also offers many safety benefits.

Claxton were joined on the World Oil awards finalist list by Acteon sister company Pulse. Pulse, nominated for their innovative DrilllAssure Software Modules, also attended the awards.

Patterson noted: “There were hundreds of applications; we were honoured to be a finalist in what was a very prestigious event, let alone runner up in our category.”
