CMA CGM Opts for DP World London Gateway

Container shipping company CMA CGM has launched services from West Africa to DP World London Gateway Port.

The CMA CGM EURAF2 service is calling direct to Nigeria, Ghana, and the Ivory Coast providing some of the fastest transit times in the market.

The service, which will be provided through partnership with Hapag-Lloyd and MOL, started with the Frisia Helsinki calling at DP World London Gateway on January 29, 2015.

Via transhipment, the service also offers an extensive range of West African ports, including a wide range of inland destinations, DP World said.

DP World’s London Gateway is pushing ahead with its infrastructural development.

Namely, construction of DP World’s London Gateway Logistics Park  started on February 6th.

The 316,000 square foot distribution facility is being developed as an equal joint venture between DP World and Prologis specializing in industrial real estate.

The development, which also comprises more than 10,000 sq ft of office space, is being built on Europe’s largest logistics park, which provides 9.25million sq ft of development space.

The unit is scheduled to be ready for occupation by the third quarter of 2015 and has the potential to bring approximately 100 full-time jobs.
