CMA CGM Reshuffles Asia-Europe Service

French container shipping company CMA CGM and Ocean Three partners have decided to merge their FAL2 and FAL3 loops in order to adapt to the current market situation between Asia and Europe.

This is the latest reshuffle in the trade amid collapsing freight rates spurred by lower demand on the trade this year.

As informed, the new FAL 23 service will provide direct service to Vietnam with a new call at Cai Mep Deep Sea terminal in Ho Chi Minh City. In addition, the service will bring Le Havre and Rotterdam import and export calls, a new export call at Felixstowe and new import call at Chiwan.

Starting October 13th in Asia, twelve 12,000 to 15,000 TEUs vessels will follow the new rotation: Shanghai, Ningbo, Yantian, Cai Mep, Port Kelang, Le Havre, Rotterdam, Antwerp, Hamburg, Felixstowe, Rotterdam, Le Havre, Jeddah, Port Kelang, Chiwan, Shanghai.

The new rotation will start in the Eastbound from Antwerp on September 28th with the CMA CGM La Perouse.
CMA CGM added that its FAL1 service that employs its 18,000 EVPs Group’s vessels, such as CMA CGM Kergulen, CMA CGM George Forester, CMA CGM Vasco de Gama and CMA CGM Bougainville, has added a new call at Qingdao as of mid-August 2015.

The new call is expected at reducing transit times from Ningbo, Shanghai, Yantian and Port Kelang to Algeciras, Southampton, Dunkirk and Hamburg by 3 days.

The rotation will be: Tianjin, Dalian, Pusan, Qingdao, Ningbo, Shanghai, Yantian, Port Kelang, Algeciras, Southampton, Dunkirk, Hamburg, Rotterdam, Zeebrugge, Le Havre, Malta, Khor Fakkan, Yantian, Tianjin.

Starting October 13th, CMA CGM will add Xiamen on its FAL8 service. The new rotation is: Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Xiamen, Yantian, Port Kelang, Felixstowe, Rotterdam, Hambourg, Zeebruge, Rotterdam, Port Kelang, Yantian, Qingdao.
