Cochin Shipyard delivers PSV to Liberian client

India’s Cochin Shipyard Limited has delivered a platform supply vessel “Sea Tortuga” to M/s. PSV Holding Inc. Liberia.

“Sea Tortuga” is third in a series of four vessels that are being built for the same client.

The vessels are of the PSV 05L CD type, and were designed by Vard Group AS, Norway. This is Cochin’s third ship that is filled with Ballast Water Treatment Plant with the goal of preventing and ultimately eliminating the risks to the environment that arise from the transfer of the harmful aquatic organisms and pathogens.

The vessel can accommodate 28 people, and it meets the requirements of the COMF class signifying high levels of comfort and low levels of noise and vibration; it also has a fire fighting capability that meets the FIRE FIGHTER-1 Notation. This vessel has an OILREC notation which means it can act as an oil recovery vessel in case of the oil spill and the LFL notation, meaning that the vessel can carry Low Flash Liquids like methanol on specially inserted stainless steel tanks.
