Contship Italia Signs MOU with Iran’s SPMCO

Italy’s Contship Italia Spa has recently signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Iran’s largest port operator – Sina Port & Marine Company (SPMCO) – aimed at exchanging experiences and know-how in port operations, and expanding the cooperation between the two port operators.

The parties agreed to look into the upgrading of technical, commercial and operational capabilities to the best international standards and practices; defining their Container Terminal Business Plans; and cooperating on Iran’s ports and logistic development, with a specific focus on the ports of Bandar Abbas and Bushehr.

Contship Italia Spa and the state-owned SPMCO said that this MOU represents a great opportunity and milestone for the involved countries in this period marked by a new level of economic cooperation and political relationships.
