Corps to Solicit Bids for Portland Harbor Dredging

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District is issuing a Pre-Solicitation Notice for a construction contract for Maintenance Dredging and Rock Removal in Portland Harbor.

The proposed work consists of maintenance dredging of the 35-foot Federal channel and rock removal, and the estimated construction cost is between $10 mln and $15 mln.

This project is planned to be issued on or about May 31, 2013. The work consists of dredging about 700,000 cubic yards of sediment, including 2 feet of allowable overdepth to -37 feet mean lower low water (MLLW), plus the removal of about 1,500 cubic yards of ledge from approximately five rock pinnacles protruding just above the -35 foot MLLW plane.

The solicitation requirements and contract documents will include instructions for submission and the response date will be available on or about May 31, 2013.
