COSL7 module rig en route to Gulf of Mexico

China Oilfield Services Limited announced that its newly built module rig, COSL7 is being delivered to Mexico, while installation of modules and pre-operation testing will start upon its arrival at Gulf of Mexico.

COSL7, a module rig, is designed to operate in well depths of 25,000 ft, equipped with winch capacity of 3,000 HP, as well as top-drive drilling volume of 750 tonnes.

Starting from its delivery of Mexico, COSL7 will provide drilling services to clients in the region for no less than 3 years, where service fees will be relatively higher as compared to previous module rigs.

Other than COSL7, COSL currently has 4 module rigs providing offshore drilling services in the Gulf of Mexico.
