According to CPRA, the event will offer attendees the opportunity to learn more about the Mid-Barataria and Mid-Breton Sediment Diversions – coastal restoration projects that will rebuild and sustain thousands of acres of vital wetlands in Plaquemines Parish and adjacent areas.

CPRA added that experts in science and engineering will be on hand to explain how sediment diversions will harness the power of the Mississippi River to deliver sediment to rebuild and maintain the wetlands for future generations.

Louisiana Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority is the state agency leading coastal restoration, hurricane protection and other community resiliency efforts, and their mandate is to develop, implement, and enforce a comprehensive protection and restoration master plan for coastal Louisiana.
