“Shipyard management has informed us of eight injuries, none of them considered life-threatening,” Royal Caribbean Cruises spokesperson said.

“We are aware of damage to the dock structure and to construction cranes. We are assessing damage to the ship.”

At the time, the 225,000-tonne Oasis of the Seas was in the shipyard’s Dry Dock No. 2. Available imagery suggests that the incident left the vessel with a starboard list, however, there was no confirmation on whether the list was linked to the vessels or the floating dry dock.

It is currently unknown if there would be any impact on scheduled Oasis of the Seas sailings. The ship was undergoing routine maintenance in the Grand Bahama Shipyard and therefore had no guests aboard.

Oasis of the Seas, which sails out of Port Canaveral, finished its last passenger cruise on March 30. It was reportedly scheduled to be moved to Miami for the fall/winter season.
