After production at Eagle LNG’s new Maxville facility in Jacksonville, LNG is loaded into Crowley’s 10,700-gallon international shipping organization (ISO) tank containers.

These ISO containers then are transported via truck and loaded onto Crowley vessels at the Port of Jacksonville, Crowley said in a statement.

The newly commissioned LNG liquefaction plant in west Jacksonville has a capacity of 200,000 gallons per day with access to the Jacksonville port. It has a 1-million-gallon storage tank and a system to load fuel into the ISO containers for truck delivery to the port.

The facility includes a new truck load-out design allowing faster loading of LNG into ISO containers, and it provides fuel for Crowley’s new LNG-powered, Commitment Class combination container/roll-on roll-off ‘ConRo’ ships when they are deployed this year.
