CSL Delivers Another PSV, India

Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) last Friday delivered a state-of-the-art platform support vessel (PSV), the ‘Sea Tortuga’ to PSV Holding Inc., Liberia.

This is the third in a series of four similar vessels being built for the same client. The vessels are of PSV 05L CD type, designed by Vard Group AS, Norway, and are classed under the Rules and Regulations of Det Norske Veritas (DNV).

PSV ‘Sea Tortuga’ is a high end Diesel Electric PSV equipped with four 1200 KW Diesel Generator sets and two 1600 KW input power azimuth thrusters. The vessel has been assigned the ‘CLEAN DESIGN’ notation by DNV signifying the highest levels of environmental compliance.

The vessel features a Ballast Water Treatment Plant to prevent and ultimately eliminate risks to the environment arising from the transfer of harmful aquatic organisms and pathogens. Being able to accommodate 28 persons, she also meets the requirements of COMF class signifying high comfort levels and very low levels of noise and vibration.
