CWind Setting Up “CWind Taiwan”

CWind is setting up a joint venture in Taiwan – CWind Taiwan Ltd, the UK Government said while reporting on the 3-day visit to Taiwan that kicked off today.

Offshore WIND contacted CWind, however, getting more information on the matter is rather difficult today due to a bank holiday in the UK.

UK’s trade and technology mission will share its experience in renewable energy in Taiwan until 1 June, as part of the 11th “UK-Taiwan Renewable Energy Conference”.

Taiwan plans to install three offshore wind farms with a total capacity of 300MW by 2020 and reach a total installed capacity of 4,000MW by 2030. According to the country’s Bureau of Energy, Ministry of Economic Affairs, Taiwan’s offshore wind energy projects are expected to attract TWD 2.5 billion (USD 74.6 million) of fresh investments in 2016 and a total of TWD 670 billion of new investments by 2030.
