Deltares Inks Alliance with Kuwait

Deltares signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Kuwait’s Environment Public Authority, the government agency responsible for the country’s environment.

One of the EPA’s duties is to collect data as a basis for environmental policy and spatial planning.

Support for sustainable coastal management

Deltares will support EPA in areas that include knowledge relating to the sustainable management of urban areas, coastal zones and wetlands, and with the analysis and dissemination of knowledge and data about water quality and ecosystems in marine waters, coastal waters and groundwater.

Emphasis on ‘working with nature’

The two-day visit also focused on ‘working with nature’, which combines functions like flood risk management or waste-water treatment with natural processes.

The delegation from Kuwait went on a number of visits, including a look at a drinking water facility and the Sand Motor, both on the coast of South Holland near Kijkduin.
