Denmark: Bladt Completes First Transition Piece for Anholt Offshore Wind Farm

Denmark: Bladt Completes First Transition Piece for Anholt Offshore Wind Farm

The first transition piece for Anholt Offshore Wind Farm has seen the light of day at Bladt Industries in Aalborg.

The transition pieces must be installed on top of the monopile and cast together with the monopile by means of special-purpose concrete. However, as the concrete can be used only at temperatures above approximately 5°C, the installation of the transition pieces is scheduled to start in April 2012.

The transition piece is designed with a flange on which the wind turbine can be installed and which makes it possible to ensure that the wind turbine is placed completely vertical.

The transition piece is assembled on shore, including boat landing, ladders, internal and external work platforms and j-tubes for the submarine cables.

Up ending of the first transition pieces will commence at the end of March 2012, and the transition pieces will be shipped from Aalborg from April 2012.
