DFDS Adds Extra Rotterdam-Felixstowe Weekly Service

Denmark-based passenger and freight shipping company DFDS Seaways will increase capacity on the Rotterdam – Felixstowe freight shipping route with an extra departure in both directions as of Friday 3 July.

The extra departures on Rotterdam – Felixstowe route will be on Fridays. There will be a departure at 09:00 hours from Rotterdam, arrival in Felixstowe at around 15:30 hours and leaving again for Rotterdam at 20:00 hours.

In total there will be three round trips on Fridays, as on other days when three ro-ro ships serve the route.

”The extra departure on the Felixstowe route follows strong customer demand and volume growth on the route. Today we are pleased to announce that we set another weekly record with 66,285 lane metres, which equates to approximately 4,700 units,” said Mikael Mortensen, Route Director at DFDS Seaways Rotterdam.

This growth underlines the improved performance within the DFDS Group’s transport network, with revenue rising by 3% to EUR 393 million for the quarter ended 31 March.

The performance of the shipping activities improved in most areas, and considerable volume growth was achieved on the routes between the Netherlands / Denmark and the UK.
