Diana Containerships Disposes of Another Post-Panamax

Greek boxship owner Diana Containerships has signed a Memorandum of Agreement to sell its Post-Panamax vessel, the m/v Hamburg.

The 2009-built ship would be sold to an unaffiliated third party for a price of USD 21 million.

It is scheduled to be delivered to the buyer by July 31, 2018.

Diana Containerships said it would use the net proceeds to prepay part of the existing indebtedness.

Upon completion of the transaction, Diana Containerships’ fleet will consist of 5 container vessels, including 3 Post-Panamax and 2 Panamax ships.

In early March, the company signed agreements for the sale of two 2010-built containerships, the m/v Sagitta and the m/v Centaurus, at a price of USD 12.3 million each.

Earlier this year, Diana Containerships sold its 2006-built vessel New Jersey and two of its 2004-built Post-Panamaxes, the m/v March and m/v Great.

New Jersey was sold for demolition at a price of around USD 9.67 million, while the two Post-Panamaxes were sold for an aggregate of USD 22 million.
