Diana Containerships Extends Sagitta Charter with Hapag-Lloyd

Greek boxship owner Diana Containerships has decided to extend the present time charter contract with German container shipping company Hapag-Lloyd for M/V Sagitta, a Panamax vessel.

As informed, the new charter period will start on February 15, 2018.

The gross charter rate is USD 8,400 per day for a period of minimum three to maximum five months.

The new charter is expected to generate approximately USD 756,000 of gross revenue for the minimum scheduled period of the time charter, the company said.

Built at German Nordseewerke Emden Shipyard in 2010, the 3,426 TEU Sagitta has a market value of USD 10.11 million, VesselsValue’s data shows.

Diana Containerships’ fleet currently comprises eleven vessels, six Post-Panamaxes and five Panamaxes. The company recently entered into an agreement to sell two Post-Panamax vessels, which are expected to be delivered to their new owners by March 30, 2018.
