Diana’s Astarte to Continue Working for Glencore

Athens-based dry bulk specialist Diana Shipping has agreed to extend the present time charter contract for one of its Kamsarmax dry bulk vessels, the M/V Astarte.

As informed, the 81,513 dwt ship will continue working for Glencore Agriculture from Rotterdam.

The gross charter rate is USD 14,250 per day for a period of minimum fourteen to maximum seventeen months. The new charter period commenced yesterday.

Built in 2013, Astarte was chartered, as previously announced, at a gross charter rate of USD 9,000 per day.

The employment extension of Astarte is anticipated to generate approximately USD 5.99 million of gross revenue for the minimum scheduled period of the time charter extension, according to the company.

Currently, the Marshall Islands-flagged Astarte has a market value of USD 21.85 million, VesselsValue’s data shows.

Diana Shipping’s fleet currently consists of 50 dry bulk vessels. As of today, the combined carrying capacity of the company’s fleet is approximately 5.8 million dwt with a weighted average age of 9.15 years.
