The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has approved ConocoPhillips Alaska Natural Gas Corporation’s (CPANGC) application to export LNG in an amount up to the equivalent of 40 Bcf of natural gas on a cumulative basis over a two-year period to nations with a Free Trade Agreement with the United States.

CPANGC is the operator of natural gas liquefaction and marine terminal facilities located near Kenai, Alaska. The company produces LNG from gas fields in the Cook Inlet region of Southcentral Alaska.

The proposed export of LNG would not require any changes to the Kenai LNG terminal.
