DOF inks new ROV deals with Petrobras

DOF Subsea, a subsidiary of DOF ASA, has been awarded two new contracts and two extensions for the remotely operated vehicle (ROV) contracts with Petrobras in Brazil.

DOF Subsea said on Tuesday it has been awarded two contracts in Brazil for ROVs to be installed on board Skandi Angra and Skandi Paraty vessels.

The new contracts start in April 2018 and end in September and November 2020, respectively.

The Skandi Angra is a new generation high powered anchor handling vessel designed for field installation operations across a wide range of water depths and environmental conditions. The vessel is working for Petrobras under an eight-year contract which started in 2015.

Skandi Paraty is a new generation high powered anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) built in 2016. The vessel started its four-year contract with Petrobras upon its delivery in 2016.

Furthermore, DOF said that Petrobras has extended two ROV contracts for the ROVs on board the 2012-built Skandi Iguacu and 2014-built Skandi Urca vessels until end of 2018.

The new contracts and contract extensions give 1630 days of ROV services for DOF Subsea and increase the backlog by approximately NOK 200 million ($24.6M).
