Downhole Products expands UK office

Downhole Products is on track to appoint its 100th employee this year and has revealed plans to significantly expand its Aberdeenshire headquarters.

The leading casing accessory and completion tool company is headquartered at Portlethen near Aberdeen and operates bases in key locations throughout the world including the Middle East, Asia, USA and Australia and a $6 million manufacturing facility in Xian, Central China.

The past year has seen the company’s head count grow from 65 to 92 and further business growth is likely to see the milestone 100th appointment occur before the end of 2014.

In addition, the company will double the size of its current Portlethen HQ when it expands into a new, nearby building this spring. The move has been fuelled by ongoing and sustained global growth and will create a larger manufacturing facility as well as an independent logistics facility.

Commenting on the move, Ian Kirk of Downhole Products said: “After the move, our existing building will be home to manufacturing and sales and the new building will house logistics and accounts.

“The company is continuing to grow in terms of volume of business and the locations in which we operate. We have simply run out of space where we are headquartered just now and we need to increase our UK manufacturing facility so that we can continue to provide a high level of service to our growing client base across the world.”
