DSME Closes the Year in Style

Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) once again proved its reputation of a leading shipbuilder by winning the world’s largest LNG-FSRU vessel, exceeding its yearly order target of $13 billion.

Ordered by Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL), the FSRU will have a storage capacity of 263,000 cubic meters of LNG. The vessel should be finished by September 2016 and is scheduled to enter service in November 2016 after delivery and commissioning at Port of Montevideo.

The FSRU will be a core facility for a liquefied natural gas (LNG) import project in Uruguay led by Gas Sayago (a JV between Uruguay state oil company ANCAP and state power company UTE).
