DSME Wins $1.2b Drillship Duo

Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co., Ltd. (DSME) has signed another lucrative deal adding two more ships to its orderbook.

The company announced today in its regulatory filing to the Korea Stock Exchange that it has won an order worth approx $ 1.25 billion for the construction of two drillships.

DSME also said that the vessels are planned to be delivered by the end of 2015.

Started in 1973 at Okpo Bay, Geoje Island, located on the southeastern tip of the Korean Peninsula, DSME was completed in 1981. The shipyard has since grown into the world’s premium shipbuilding and offshore contractor who is specialized in building various vessels, offshore platforms, drilling rigs, drillships, FPSO/FPUs, etc.
