DTOcean to present tidal array design tool in October

Following three years of work, DTOcean will present its design tool solution to end-users on October 12 at a conference seminar in Liverpool, UK.

Design Tools for Ocean Energy Arrays (DTOcean) is an EU-funded project which aims to accelerate the development of the first and subsequent generations of wave and tidal energy arrays.

The project is developing a software suite of whole-system tools to enable the design, development and installation of wave and tidal energy arrays in a cost-effective and optimal manner.

The free-to-attend conference seminar will take place alongside RenewableUK’s Renewables Marketplace Conference & Exhibition.

The seminar will provide technology and project developers with introductory training on using the tool, and insight into what the tool can do for them.

The first session will provide an overview of the tool and its functionality, with the second focused on providing the participants with a more detailed software walk-through tutorial in break-out groups led by DT Ocean experts, Ocean Energy Europe informed.

The seminar is intended for project developers from the offshore renewable energy sectors, wave and tidal energy technology developers, consultancies working with design tools, supply chain technology developers, installation and maintenance service providers, and researchers with an interest in this area.

DTOcean project gathers 18 partners from 11 countries under the coordination of the University of Edinburgh.
