Eagle LNG files last draft resource report with FERC

Eagle LNG Partners submitted the draft Resource Report 13 for the Jacksonville LNG project to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) as part of the pre-filing process.

The company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Ferus Natural Gas Fuels, said in its statement on Monday it is edging closer to submitting the formal application with FERC for the authorization to site and construct its 1.0 mtpa LNG facility in Jacksonville, Florida.

Eagle LNG expects to file the application with FERC before the end of the year.

The company has engaged CH-IV International, a Clough unit, as its owner’s engineer to help prepare this detailed draft resource report.

The facility, which is expected to be commissioned in 2019, will service domestic applications and nearby small-scale export markets, Eagle LNG said.

LNG will be loaded onto ocean-going vessels for export to countries currently using heavy fuel oil or diesel for power generation, as well as for use in domestic marine fueling.

Dick Brown, Eagle LNG’s CEO said the project is ‘optimistic about the potential of natural gas to displace heavy fuel oil and diesel.’

Eagle LNG expects FERC to grant the filing status in 2017.
