EDF EN, Dong Energy Seek Contractors for Offshore Wind Foundations Work

Eolien Maritime France, a subsidiary of EDF EN and Dong Energy, is looking to award contracts for the manufacturing and additional construction work of foundations for two proposed offshore wind farms off the French coast.

Some 75 monopiles and associated transition pieces will be needed for the Courseulles-sur-Mer wind farm, whilst the Saint Nazaire wind farm is planned to have approximately 80 monopiles and associated transition pieces. Correspondingly, the company has issued a call for tenders for two separate lots and tenders may be submitted for one or both of them.

The contracts will also include the Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Installation (EPCI) of the additions to the transition pieces such as boat landing, access ladders and platform with related equipment (crane, lighting, MV/LV electrical equipment, etc.). Furthermore, the work will also involve soil preparation and scour protection, if required.

Since the offshore wind farm construction requires onshore assembly facilities, the invitation for tenders includes the design, construction, operation and decommissioning of such facility as well.

Deadline for submission of tenders is December 17, 2014.
