Edison comes up dry in Haribo prospect

Edison comes up dry in HariboNoreco Norway has informed that the Haribo exploration well in the North Sea has been drilled to total depth without encountering hydrocarbons. 

The well will now be plugged and abandoned as the targeted high porosity reworked chalk reservoir was not found.

Spudded on June 21, 2015 the well was drilled by the semi-submersible drilling rig Transocean Searcher on the Haribo prospect, which is located approximately eight kilometres south of the Valhall Field in the Norwegian part of the North Sea. Drilling was stopped at 3,388 metres below sea level in the Upper Cretaceous Hidra formation.

Partners in the licence PL616 are Edison Norge (operator) with 25 per cent, Noreco Norway 20 per cent, Concedo 20 per cent, Lime Petroleum Norway 15 per cent, Skagen44 five per cent and North Energy 15 per cent.
