Eidesvik Offshore sheds another vessel

Eidesvik Offshore, a supply, subsea, seismic and cable-laying shipping company, has signed a memorandum of agreement (MoA) for the sale of the European Supporter vessel.

Eidesvik Offshore also recently sold its seismic vessels, the Viking II, close to the book value.

In an Oslo filing issued on Friday, Eidesvik did not reveal the name of the buyer of the European Supporter.

However, the company did say that the deposit has been lodged and the delivery would take place in October 2015.

The vessel is under a firm contract with P&O Maritime Services PTY until the end of 3Q 2015. Eidesvik emphasized that the vessel has no debt.

The company further added that a gain on the sale of approximately NOK 100 million ($12.4 million) would be recorded in Q4-15.

The European Supporter is a 106m multi-purpose DP2 cable installation vessel which can perform a variety of installation, handling, burial and cable protection tasks for the Oil and Gas, Offshore Renewables, and Telecommunications sectors. It was built in 1996 by Flekkefjord Slip & Maskinfabrikk AS, Norway.
