Eidesvik Sells European Supporter

Eidesvik Offshore has inked a deal for the sale of the European Supporter to an undisclosed buyer.

According to the company, the deposit has been lodged and the delivery will take place in October 2015.

Eidesvik will book a gain on the sale of approximately NOK 100 million ($12.4 million) in the fourth quarter 2015.

Built in 1996 by Flekkefjord Slip & Maskinfabrikk AS, Norway, the 105.6 meters long vessel was on charter with P&O Maritime Services PTY.

Under the charter, the European Supporter served as a multi-purpose DP2 cable installation vessel which can perform a variety of installation, handling, burial and cable protection tasks.

The vessel features 5,000 tonne under deck cable capacity, a 60t SWL active heave compensated crane, a 50t SWL tow winch, fitted below the aft working deck and it can accommodate 59 persons total.

A dedicated ROV hanger is located on the port side which can house a work-class ROV and associated launch and recovery systems. Trenching equipment, jetting ROVs and cable burial ploughs can be handled by the stern-mounted A-Frame.

The European Supporter is povered by 2 x Wärtsilä Wichmann 12 V 28 B, 3960kW main engines with maximum speed of 17 knots.

Earlier this year, Eidesvik also sold the seismic vessel Viking II, previously operated by a French seismic contractor CGG.
