Elengy to build new LNG truck loading station at Montoir

France’s Elengy, a unit of Engie, is mulling the construction of a new liquefied natural gas truck loading station at its Montoir-de-Bretagne terminal. 

The company said in its statement that building a new LNG truck loading station came into consideration due to a “significant increase in the booked capacity.”

The new facility, that would be operational by winter 2017, would at least double the current capacity of 70 loading operations per week, depending on its configuration.

Elengy invited interested companies to express their interest before July 25, 2016 and said it is open for discussions that would include proposed capacity and deadline.

Decision on the new LNG truck loading facility is expected to be taken by the second semester of 2016, Elengy said.

The loading service at the Montoir-de-Bretagne terminal has been in constant growth since its launch in 2013, Elengy said, adding that more than 1100 trucks loaded at the current facility in 2015.

Elengy has 19 million tons per annum of natural gas regasification capacity and 840,000 cbm of LNG storage capacity. Its three terminals are also able to conduct 4600 LNG truck loadings per year, according to its website.

The Montoir-de-Bretagne terminal’s operations were affected recently by almost four week-long strike by the workforce, that halted the truck loading operations as well. However, the strike ended on June 15 allowing for the operations to resume.
