eMAR Platform Unveiled

The first official presentation of the eMAR Platform, which is developed under the eMAR Project, took place in Piraeus-Greece, on May 27th, 2014.

DSC_1278The eMARITIME systems presented showcased the significant improvement of the maritime and shipping operations through an integrated and innovative maritime transport information management.

DANAOS hosted the event in the context of its annual Users’ Meeting, and presented the Danaos Platform, a system aiming to become the primary professional social network of the maritime industry.

University of Piraeus – dept. of Maritime Studies and Decision Dynamics Ltd., partners of the eMAR project, were also co-hosts of this event that attracted more than 200 maritime professionals from around the globe, discussing how these tools actually support them overcome legacy barriers in their business models.

Mrs. Jenny Rainbird, Project Coordinator and Senior Project Manager of the BMT Group said: “The eMAR project now reaching its final phase aims, through the 27 European partner companies, to create a more efficient and more user friendly environment for the modern shipping company “.

Mr. Takis Katsoulakos, Technical Director of Inlecom Systems presented the INLECOM Platform.

“Until now European shipping dealt with technology that focused on simplifying the processes between a ship and the port authorities on a 1-1 basis.

Our approach in the eMAR Project is integrated and collective by creating tools that simplify processes not only for authorities but also for the clients/companies/market/industry. This is what we call the INLECOM Ecosystem”, said Mr. Katsoulakos.

Key note speakers and the audience had an interesting conversation on the bottom line results that the shipping company requires, agreeing that the eMAR platform mission is successful.
