Emerson to provide automation services for Cameron LNG

Emerson Process Management said on Wednesday it has been selected by Cameron LNG to provide automation for its liquefied natural gas export facility under construction in Hackberry, Louisiana.

Under the US$20 million contract, Emerson Process Management will provide automation services and technologies that will “enhance the safety and efficiency” of the LNG facility’s operations, the company said in a statement.

With the recently proposed addition of liquefaction trains five and six to the ones currently under construction, the Cameron LNG facility will have the capacity to produce 24.92 mtpa of chilled gas.

The construction of the facility is expected be completed by the end of 2019.

Cameron LNG is a joint venture owned by affiliates of Sempra Energy, GDF Suez, Mitsui & Co. and Japan LNG Investment, a joint venture formed by affiliates of Mitsubishi Corporation and Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha.
