Flex LNG, the shipping company controlled by billionaire John Fredriksen, signed a time-charter agreement with Enel Trade, for its newbuild LNG carrier Flex Enterprise.

Enel Trade, a unit of the Italian Enel Group will charter the vessel for a 12-month period commencing during the second half of 2019.

Enel also has the option to extend the contract by an additional 12 months subsequent to the firm period, FLex LNG said in a statement on Wednesday.

While Flex Enterprise has been selected as the vessel to serve the charter, Flex LNG added it could nominate one of its sister vessels for the job.

Flex Enterprise, a tanker with a 173,400 cubic meter capacity and MEGI propulsion is currently operating in the spot market after being delivered by the South Korean shipyard Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME).

Flex currently has four more MEGI LNG carriers under construction at the South Korean shipyards. Two carriers currently under construction at Samsung Heavy Industries are scheduled for delivery in May and July this year, while two more vessels under construction at DSME have delivery dates set for June and August 2019.
