Ertuğrul Gazi FSRU receives first LNG cargo

LNG tanker Berge Arzew has delivered the commissioning cargo to Ertuğrul Gazi FSRU at the LNG terminal in Hatay, Turkey.

BW LNG’s Berge Arzew delivered about 132,000 cubic metres of LNG to the first Turkish-flagged FSRU in a ship-to-ship transfer.

The Bahama-flagged LNG tanker docked near Ertuğrul Gazi at BOTAŞ Dörtyol FSRU terminal in Hatay and started the LNG cargo transfer on 28 June 2021. The ship-to-ship transfer was completed on 2 July.

The LNG cargo came from Algeria.

Ertuğrul Gazi FSRU was put into service on 25 June 2021, built by Hyundai Heavy Industries in accordance with the ABS guide for building and classing LNG regasification vessels.

The FSRU’s daily regasification capacity is 28 million cubic meters per day.

It is owned by Turkish oil and gas pipeline operator Botas, a unit of Turkish Petroleum Corp.

Wilhelmsen Ship Management will serve as the ship manager.
