ETIP Ocean sets up funding workshop & wave seminar

ETIP Ocean is organizing a wave energy seminar, and a workshop set for public funding program advice during Ocean Energy Europe 2017 conference, taking place in Nantes next week.

The seminar, scheduled for October 25, 2017, will explore the progress made in the last 5 years on the development of power take-off (PTO) systems for wave energy devices, and the ways forward for the industry.

It will feature speakers from leading international wave energy companies, including Patrik Möller from CorPower Ocean, Kieran O’Brien from Carnegie Clean Energy, Alexander Martha from NEMOS, Ali Baghaei from Aquanet Power, and Luca Castellini from Umbra Cuscinetti.

During the second day of the Ocean Energy Europe (OEE) 2017 Conference & Exhibition, on October 26, a workshop set to make recommendations for EU public funding programs will take place.

In the presence of European Commission officials, the results of ETIP Ocean workshops to date will be discussed in thematic round tables. Recommendations and actions will be brought forward and form the basis of next year’s Integrated Strategy.

The Integrated Strategy will in 2018 be presented to the European Commission and national research and funding bodies, with the objective to ensure that call for proposals address ocean energy’s priority challenges and best fit the industry’s needs.

The workshop requires registration, except for the OEE2017 registered participants.

ETIP Ocean is regarded as an advisory body to the European Commission. It is managed by Ocean Energy Europe and the University of Edinburgh, bringing together around 250 experts from 150 organizations covering the entire European ocean energy sector.
