Evergas names sixth LNG-fueled carrier

Danish shipping company, Evergas, named the sixth LNG-fueled “Dragon” class carrier at the Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering shipyard in Qidong, China.

The 27,500-cbm vessel capable of transporting ethane, a wide range of petrochemical gasses, LPG and LNG, was named JS Ineos Intuition, Evergas informed in its statement.

The vessel will transport ethane from the United States Mariner East project to Europe under a 15-year shipping deal Evergas signed with Ineos in 2013.

It is the sixth carrier in a series of eight to be delivered to Evergas. The vessels, 80 meters long and 26.6 meters wide, will mainly use liquefied natural gas as fuel.
