Evergas names two multigas LNG carriers

Copenhagen-based Evergas informed that it held the naming ceremonies for two dragon class 27.500 cbm multigas LNG carriers at the Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering shipyard in Qidong, China.

The two carriers were named JS Ineos Insight and JS Ineos Ingenuity, the company revealed in a statement.

Evergas signed 15-year shipping agreements with Ineos for the transportation of ethane into Europe from the US Mariner East project.

In total Ineos and Evergas agreed to utilize six multigas carriers which will enable Ineos to transport, LNG, LPG as well as petrochemical gasses including ethylene.

The dual-fuelled vessels use LNG to power its engines and are 180 metres long and 26.6 metres wide with a draft of approximately 9 metres.
