OKEA said on Monday that it had named Knut Gjertsen as its new SVP of Project and Technology.

Gjertsen comes from the position as project director for Johan Castberg in Equinor. According to OKEA, he will join the company on April 1, 2020.

Erik Haugane, the chief executive officer of OKEA, said: “We are very pleased to get a capacity like Knut Gjertsen to join the OKEA team.

“OKEA has an ambition, both as operator and as a partner, to execute cost-effective field development projects on the Norwegian continental shelf and the value of Knut’s competence in this area cannot be overemphasized.”

It is worth noting that the current SVP of project and technology is Anton Tronstad, a veteran of the industry with thirty years of experience.

He previously worked at Kværner and Statoil, and was the SVP of drilling at Pertra, as well as the co-founder and SVP of drilling at Det Norske oljeselskap.
