Ex-Oceaneering man takes FairfieldNodal board seat

U.S.-based geophysical company FairfieldNodal has made a new addition to its board of directors.

FairfieldNodal said on Tuesday that Knut Eriksen was appointed as the newest member of the company’s board.

The company added that Eriksen’s industry experience, strategic orientation, demonstrated business development track record, and in-depth understanding of the offshore oil and gas segment would be vital as FairfieldNodal continues to expand capabilities and capture new market opportunities.

He recently retired from Oceaneering International where he served as an executive officer and senior vice president of business development.

Eriksen also held other key executive positions in the oil and gas industry, on the operator, service company, and contractor sides of the business.

According to his LinkedIn profile, before Oceaneering, he worked in NATCO Group, Aker Kvaerner, KE Enterprises, Unocal Corporation, and Aker Maritime.

“Based on this wealth of experience, Eriksen will lend his diverse and unique business insight to the FairfieldNodal board at a time when the company seeks to advance its strategic agenda,” the company said.

Charles Davison, president and CEO of FairfieldNodal, said: “Knut’s experience and knowledge, and the solid relationships he has cultivated in his many years in the industry, make him an ideal candidate for the FN board. There are so many great opportunities in our industry right now, and Knut’s expertise and perspective can help guide the company to the best possible outcomes.”

In related news, FairfieldNodal recently finalized its agreement to purchase the assets of WGP Group, a provider of marine geophysical services headquartered in the UK. The sale of WGP Group by its parent company Thalassa Holdings, in the works since mid-2017, is effective from December 31, 2017.
