Exoma Contracts Second Galilee Rig

Exoma Energy announced that it has engaged a second drill rig for its extensive 2012 Galilee Basin exploration program in Central Queensland.

This program is being conducted on behalf of the Galilee Joint Venture (Exoma 50%, CNOOC Gas & Power 50%).

Exoma has contracted Energy Drilling Australia (EDA), a subsidiary of Ausdrill Limited (ASL), to provide a Foremost Explorer III-65 drill rig and crew to drill between 4 and 8 crore wells in the Galilee Joint Venture acreage. The rig is expected to mobilise to site on 21 April and the first well, Alma-1, is expected to spud on 25 April, 2012.

Alma -1 is located in ATP 996, approximately 100 kilometres north of Longreach. The well is targeting both the Permian coal measures and the overlying Toolebuc shale.

As reported on 28 February 2012, Exoma has also contracted another EDA-owned rig to drill throughout 2012 on a series of CSG, shale/liquid gas and conventional oil targets. This rig is currently undergoing acceptance trials in EDA’s Toowoomba yard and is expected to mobilise to site in early May.
