Exova opens new lab in Malaysia

Exova Group plc, the global testing, calibration and advisory services provider to the oil and gas industry, has opened a new laboratory in Johor, Malaysia.

The move will extend Exova’s geographical reach and support the expansion of its offering to customers across the Asia Pacific region. The company says that the new laboratory will work closely with its existing laboratory in Singapore to offer customers a range of specialist metallurgical testing capabilities.

Exova further says that the existing laboratory in Singapore and the new facility in Johor will offer complementary testing services, allowing the concentration of specific expertise into each laboratory, producing efficiencies and reducing turnaround times for customers.

The move will also give customers in the region further access to international testing standards as well as the convenience of a new location close to oil & gas and infrastructure projects, the company adds.

Hicham Abdallah, managing director for Exova in Middle East, Asia and Asia Pacific said: “As we continue to grow our customer base in Malaysia, we recognised the need to create a laboratory close to their projects that can provide testing to the required international standards. This facility, when combined with our existing operation in Singapore, extends both capacity and capability giving our customers a greater choice of technically demanding services in the region.”

The new facility extends Exova’s global reach to 143 laboratories and offices in 32 countries, it has been said in the company’s press release.
