FERC delays Jordan Cove LNG EIS

Veresen informed that Jordan Cove LNG and Pacific Connector Gas Pipeline have received from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission in the United States a revised notice of schedule for environmental review of the project.

The new schedule indicates that the final environmental impact statement will now be issued on September 30, 2015 rather than the previous date of June 12, 2015.

“The delay in issuing the final EIS is primarily due to the FERC’s evaluation of an alternative pipeline route, known as the Blue Ridge route, impacting approximately 14 miles of the 232 mile pipeline route,” said Don Althoff, President and CEO of Veresen.

He said that the communities in southwest Oregon proposed this alternative route and that Veresen fully supports the proposal.

Althoff did add that despite another revision to the schedule, this does not change the company’s view that it will receive the final EIS for Jordan Cove LNG and Pacific Connector in due course.

Given the change in the FERC schedule for issuing the final EIS, Veresen is currently reviewing any impacts on the project schedule.
