A naming ceremony took place on January 25 for the Australia Pacific LNG-dedicated carrier CESI Wenzhou at Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding in China.

The dual fuel CESI Wenzhou is the fifth vessel in a series of a total of six carriers that will be built at Hudong.

The 290m-long LNG carrier with a 174,000 cubic meters capacity, will ship the chilled fuel from the ConocoPhillips-operated APLNG plant on Curtis Island off Gladstone to China’s coastal areas with an annual traffic of over 1 million tons.

Like all the vessels in the series, CESI Wenzhou is owned by a joint venture of MOL, China COSCO Shipping and China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation (Sinopec).
